New research by Plymouth Marine Laboratory and the University of Plymouth shows up to 1.9 million sq km of the world’s coastal waters are being exposed to biologically significant levels of artificial light at night

The Plankton Lifeform Extraction Tool (PLET) was built by the Marine Biological Association, the University of Plymouth and Plymouth Marine Laboratory and 13 other universities and research institutes across the UK and Europe.

The Centre for Doctoral Training in Sustainable Management of UK Marine Resources (SuMMeR CDT) aims to deliver the next generation of researchers, solution providers and practitioners who will sustainably manage our marine resources.

The city of Plymouth has seen its position as an international centre of excellence for marine research further enhanced after its three leading science organisations joined forces to launch Marine Research Plymouth.
